Make a Status Update in 3D is a spin-off of our digitalized social lives. 
Why do people reveal what they're doing online instead of doing it live with their friends?
Bacardi is challenging visitors throughout the hospitality industryin the Netherlands to write their status update on a physical 'status bar' (à la Facebook, but then real!). Visitors are then photographed in 3D with their friends, with the update in their hand.
The Bacardi team immediately gives the 3D photo in Polaroid format to visitors, who can use the photo to get a discount on a Bacardi cocktail with their photo pals. The digital photo is automatically uploaded onsite onto Bacardi's Facebook page, so that the status updates can be seen online as well.

It's the first time that a brand implements 3D technology so extensively: the photos that visitors receive onsite are printed in 3D, and they are available online as both 3D and 2D photos.
In order to see everything in 3D, everyone in the outlet gets a special pair of 3D glasses (see illustration). All instore materials (menus and posters) are printed in 3D as well. Make a Status Update in 3D kicks off an entirely new Bacardi Together campaign, in which technology and new media will play a key role.
